Bedford, NH – Alexander Technology Group, a NH-based provider of technology consulting and staffing solutions, is pleased to announce that Jason Alexander, Co-Founder and Principal, has been named to Business NH Magazine’s “25 Leaders for the Future. The list includes people who have demonstrated leadership in the state and are expected to lead the state in a variety of capacities for the next 25 years. The group includes businesspeople, educators, nonprofit leaders and those involved in government.
Alexander says bridging the gap between education and business is vital to NH’s economic success now and in the future. That is why Alexander, 33, is dedicated, though his information technology staffing firm, to doing just that in the technology field in southern NH.
He is now running a 12-part Webinar on Internship Best Practices through the NH High Technology Council. Alexander recently helped found, and now chairs, the education committee of the Software Association of NH (SwANH). The aim of the committee is to drive college involvement in SwANH, get businesses more involved in the colleges and promote NH as a high-tech marketplace to students. The committee is now developing student memberships, which will be discounted at some level yet to be determined. The student members will get access to SwANH educational event, which will allow them to network, learn more about the industry and track down job internship leads, Alexander says. “If we can facilitate an increase in local students getting jobs, the better the local economy will benefit”, he says.
Students and school see a lot of Alexander. Some weeks he spends up to 15 hours at educational programs – though he admits that comes out of a 75-hour workweek. “I am wildly in love with it,” he says of working with students. “They are wide-eyed. They have nothing but decisions to make, so being able to lend an insight at that moment is rewarding.” He also serves on the board of advisors at NH Technical Institute and on the curriculum steering committee at the Community College System of NH. He and his firm also offer free resume critiquing, internship placement services for student and mock interviewing.
Alexander strongly believes in promoting education and encouraging business to get involved so they fully understand how critical a young educated workforce is to their future financial health.
