New Hires Into Leadership Roles

In the highly competitive sales industry, showing how you stand out is essential for career growth. One way to differentiate yourself from others with similar education, skills, and experience is through certification. Becoming certified in a sales-related field shows you are dedicated to continuous learning and improvement. This is an essential trait that employers look for when deciding whom to hire. Having a certification can mean the difference between landing your dream role or having it go to someone else.

See whether one of these certifications may help develop your sales career.

RISE Up

The National Retail Federation Foundation offers entry-level job seekers or sales professionals looking to expand their skill set training for three RISE Up credentials. The Retail Industry Fundamentals credential is for a person starting out in retail sales and selling. The Customer Service and Sales credential is for frontline, customer-facing associates who understand the basics of store operations, inventory control, merchandising, sales, and customer service. The Advanced Customer Service and Sales certification recognizes skills in closing sales and following up.

HubSpot Inbound Sales

The HubSpot Academy offers sales professionals training for HubSpot Inbound Sales certification. The five online courses show how to identify potential buyers, create strategies to reach them, and build customized presentations. Passing a final exam is required.

Certified Sales Leadership Professional

The Sales Management Association offers sales professionals training to become a Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP). Training involves participation in a series of e-learning courses or in-person workshops, passing an exam, and meeting role requirements.

Certified Sales Executive

Sales and Marketing Executives International offers sales professionals or sales managers training to become a Certified Sales Executive (CSE). Fifteen self-study courses cover essential sales skills, communication with customers, and how to manage sales and a sales team. The courses conclude with a certification exam.

Certified Inside Sales Professional

The American Association of Inside Sales Professionals offers training for sales executives focused on remote sales or account managers for remote sales to become a Certified Inside Sales Professional. The rigorous program involves 10 courses on everything from prospecting to overcoming objections. The program measures competency through a live role-play sales call exam. Certification holders must complete at least five continuing sales education credits every three years to maintain the credential.

Certified Professional Sales Person

The National Association of Sales Professionals offers sales professionals, sales executives, or CEOs training to become a Certified Professional Sales Person. Training involves 45 days of a deep dive into developing sales habits, creating and using a “personal identity,” and developing communications and influencer skills.
